Company mates gathered in historic downtown Charleston. Plans were organized by Don and Nancy Chapman. The hotel was within walking distance of everything (especially outstanding restaurants!) and visits to the Charleston historical district.  Fort Sumpter, Fort Moultrie and Boone Hall Plantation were only a short drive away.

It was nice to have local residents Frank and Durelle Cloutier (H-2) join us for dinner at Hank's Seafood Restaurant.

April 2017 - Santa Fe, New Mexico

Classmates from G1 met in Santa Fe, New Mexico for an early spring reunion.  Most arrived Tuesday, April 26th and departed Saturday the 29th.  There were a few early arrivals and departures, some weather dependent as we had six inches of snow Friday night & Saturday.

The group included Nancy & Don Chapman, Chan Duryea & Patti Webster, Diann & “T” Eubanks, Eleanor & Fred Hall, Karen & Dick Nelson, Lynn & Roy O’Connor, Fred Sladen, Carol & Joe Stehling and Carol & Bob Totten.  There were a very few AWOLS who we hope to see next year.

We started with a motorized tour of the old city area around the Plaza.  Subsequent events and visits included many of the significant museums, early cathedrals and dozens of  art studios.  The weather turned cool but did not interfere with our activities.  We found we could walk just about everywhere.  Each day included a breakfast at the Inn, lunch together at  a local restaurant, a wine and cheese get-together at the Inn, supper together at a variety of interesting restaurants and a final late evening group reunion in a meeting room, with refreshments, where many tales of life and service were related.

This was a most enjoyable gathering of old friends.  Time and life are precious and plans are already afoot to do something similar next year and annually thereafter.
